Paradigm is defined as a set of assumptions, concepts, values, and practices that constitutes a way of viewing reality for the community that shares them.
The accepted paradigm isn't necessarily correct. A famous example was the notion that the world was flat. Another was the idea that Earth was the center of the universe and everything revolved around it. The notion went unquestioned for almost 2000 years despite the fact that a few bright individuals were proposing hard evidence proving that Earth and the other planets all revolved around the sun.
Here in Beijing, there is an unfortunate assumption that service is inherently bad, that we just have to accept it as part of life. We've allowed our values to change, and we continue paying for horrible service. In turn, the businesses servicing us have no motivation to improve their practices.
By offering exellent service as an alternate option, we hope to change your expectations. When that happens, businesses that regularly offer poor service will either change their ways or disappear. Eventually the accepted paradigm will change, and chronically substandard-service will become a thing of the past.
Alternate is defined as a choice of two or more things, propositions or courses of action. Alternate Paradigm offers you a new choice, a course of action that you'll be glad you chose to take.
Change the way you think about service today.
